Delete your account
You can delete your Curating account yourself, at any time, from inside the app. It takes effect immediately and there is nothing to wait for.
From the app
- Sign in to Curating.
- Open Settings — the gear icon in the header, or your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Choose Delete account.
- Type your handle and your password to confirm. Both are asked for because there is no undo.
What gets deleted
Immediately and permanently:
- Your account and email address.
- Your profile — handle, name, bio, and your profile picture.
- Every post you’ve logged, with its text, rating and tags.
- Your comments and likes, wherever you left them.
- Your Tasteboards and everything on them, and your Want to list.
- Who you follow and who follows you.
- Your activity ledger and your notifications.
- Your blocked list, and any reports you filed.
One thing stays: a title you added to a Tasteboard someone else owns remains on their board. It stops pointing at you and carries none of your writing — it is simply a title that is now part of their collection.
There is no recovery period and no backup you can be restored from. If you want a copy of anything, take it before you delete.
If you can't sign in
Email support@curatingapp.com from the address on the account, and it will be deleted for you. You’ll get confirmation once it’s done.
Deleting your account is not the only option. If you want to stay but be seen by fewer people, Settings → Privacy can make your account private, hide your activity ledger, and limit who can comment — all without losing anything.
